Throughout its history, the Aguirre Viscayan Foundation has contributed to the transformation and modernisation of La Comercial, adapting its facilities to the needs of each era. The foundation created new spaces for INSIDE in the 1960s as well as making a significant contribution to the building’s refurbishment to accommodate the new Deusto Business School. This work has formed part of its ongoing commitment to the institution.

Among the foundation’s many projects, the Pedro de Icaza y Aguirre Auditorium stands out. The auditorium was extensively refurbished in the late 1990s, and in 2024 the foundation once again sponsored major renovation works which involved the incorporation of new academic, technological and audiovisual solutions.
